Affordable Health Insurance Solutions

I am an insurance broker celebrating my 20th year of helping individuals, families and small business owners in Pennsylvania find affordable health insurance solutions.  I hope my posts will be helpful to you if you are shopping for health insurance or may need to sometime in the future.  Most people get their health insurance through where they work or where their spouse works, but many must purchase their own coverage privately because their employer does not offer it or they are self employed or work as an independent contractor.

There are other times people need to purchase their own health insurance such as when they are laid off from their job or are a student no longer eligible as a dependent on their parents plan.  Also when people travel outside the USA or when visitors are traveling in the USA there may be a need for private health insurance.  These are all situations where I may be able to be of assistance.

There have been many changes over the years working as an agent specializing in health insurance, but it has always been a combination of challenging, rewarding and frustrating at times.  As a husband, father and small business owner myself I have always felt that I am in the shoes of my clients, understanding their needs, goals and limitations.

To most people health insurance is complicated and confusing.  While there is some standardization there is no such thing as an apples to apples comparison between insurance companies like when you are shopping for groceries or building supplies.  There are similarities between insurance plans but then there are differences that offset them!  Ahhh, the frustration!  More than anything else, that is the reason when shopping for a health plan to work with an independent agent who specializes in health insurance.

As an independent agent I represent most of the insurance companies that have plans available for the clients I serve, certainly all of the top tier companies.  While some of them sell direct to the consumer as well as through independent agents like me, customers always get the same benefits and pay the same premiums either way.  The service an agent provides is free of cost to the consumer as we are compensated by the insurance companies.

I hope my future posts here can help you avoid some pitfalls and make your understanding of health insurance in Pennsylvania a little easier.
